Has anyone been down to South Padre Island lately. How is the weed going toward the boat cut. I am talking about SPI not PINS. I will be fishing sunday and just wondering?

Sure, I will let you know. I guess it does not matter for me since no one seems to know. Heck, they could say you can't see the water for the weed and I still would go.

I know PINS got a lot of weed last weekend, but it is clean now (just dead stuff).

This tropical disturbance could hurt or help, not sure which...

Justanotherfisherman, the weed was not an issue. There was a little, but it did not affect the fishing. After about 45 minutes of a line being out, it slowly started to pull the lines. The waves were minimal and under tow stopped around 10am. One problem, the fish did not cooperate. Pleanty of whitting, one small Hammer head shard (18"). Did not see much bait in the water, shad or mullett. Good luck. I was using cut whitting, cut ballywho, and shrimp. I did manage two large Skipjacks on cut whitting. No reds or good size sharks.
