If you go with a Jabsco, which are pretty common, save yourself some time and go ahead and tear it down before installing to waterproof it with silicone. Especially the threaded holes in the bottom of the motor cavity where the long screws go. For some reason, the ding bats who designed the thing and put it together don't do this for you and when you run it, the pump part shoots pressurized water up into the threaded holes much to the motor's detriment.
If the thing fails again, I think I am going with a West Marine brand
which I believe has a 3 year warranty (correct me if I am wrong).
