had a couple days off and the wind and tide looked good so i went to chase some spots and dots. out of eagle point i prespected the deeper reefs until i hit a nice trout, anchored and (who said 6606 was unlucky :) and boxed a full limit of trout and reds (trout 18 to 22 inches, reds 20 to 23). berkely gulp minnows on a 1/2 oz. lead head whupped up on em, i know they seem expensive but i'll pay 5 bucks all day with results like this. real gentle bite !!!! thought the first one was a schoolie---------i was wrong :)---40# power pro---20# seaguar florocarbon leader about 3 feet long. slow incomming tide mid morning.

Sweet! Nice haul. Is that a Gulfcoast?
Last package of gulps i bought leaked out all over the boat and i ended up throwing them away. That was a quick 5 buxs! LOL

yeh its a gulfcoast 20 hs, not the fastest or the most economical with the 150 rude oceanpro but it works in a wide range of conditions, it "feels" safer with the high sides and never left me stranded. gets along pretty shallow and rides dry. i keep the gulps in a separate lure pack and put the gulp bag in another baggie to control the "colateral damage" when they leak and they will leak and STINK, but not as bad as when i leave a shrimp in the livewell for a week or so :) keep it rite side up dave
