Update 4 Wheeler Accident 6/16

Yesterday our 14 year old relative in the 4 wheeler accident had an 18 hour surgery. They placed 20 titanium rods, 22 titanium screws, and 2 titanium mesh plates in his face.

It looks like he is going to live, but he has a long, long road ahead of him.

He will never see out of his left eye, but right now they are thinking he will live and recover to some degree. We are not sure what that means yet but he has defied all odds so far.

Thank you for your prayers.

Please tell us his NAME so we can pray more specifically for him.

God delights in going beyond what doctors say can be done. If I remember correctly, the doctors didn't expect him to live. God had a different plan.

The doctors say he'll be blind in one eye. Maybe yes, maybe no. I think God has a special plan for this young man's life. He will influence many people in his lifetime.

The Bible says "He sent his word, and healed them." I recommend that you tell his family to read the Bible to him every chance they get, whether he's awake or asleep. Tell them to get a modern translation, like the New International Version (NIV) or the New Living Translation (NLT) and read to him the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), the Psalms, Proverbs, then alternate between Old Testament and New Testament books. Get the word of God into that boy so God can completely heal and restore him.

Heavenly Father,

I come to you in the name of Jesus. I ask for miracles on behalf of this young man. Restore his eyesight and restore him to complete health so that he may be your servant. Let your Holy Spirit hover over him and do your kind of surgery. You make us new from the inside outward. Give him Jesus. Give him a relationship with you. Then restore his health and vitality as only you can do. I praise you and thank you for these mercies to this young man.

Be with his family. Let them know that you've saved his life for your purposes. Flood them with your peace. Give them confidence in place of their fears. Let Satan hold no sway over them. Let them rejoice in your lovingkindness. And let them read the Bible to him at every opportunity.

Oh, Lord, I magnify your name and praise you for your mercies to the children of man. I pray for this family in the name of Jesus, who gave his life that we might know intimacy with you. Amen.
