well you know what your right i cant spell but then does that really matter.and tell me who has shamrock beaten in the last 13 yrs since he got beat by royce? and kimo the guy gets k.o.'ed or choked out all the time. as for pardoel well your comment that he is a nobody is about right but that goes right back to my comment that all of these guys knew nothing about the ground game.and i agree noone cam compair fighters today and yesterday and that is my entire point, everyone keeps talking about how royce beat 3 or 4 in one night so he will beat hughes. thats a load of ****. as for royces "experience", go to
www.sherdog.com and look at their records. royce has been fighting 1 fight a year for the last 5 yrs since his "return" to fighting. in that time he is 2-1-3 not to bad right? well the 2 wins where guys with loosing records, the one loss was to sakaraba "the gracie hunter" and his draws where against guys with so- so records. now on to hughes in the same span he has had 28 fights with a record of 25-3 and out of that 6 people had loosing records. and 2 of his loses where to the same person. and the other was b.j.penn who is a beast in his own right.
now onto the military bjj vs "cevilian" bjj it is actually very different, because teh military incorporates much more then just bjj into its system, like muay thai, *****, JKD, and so on.bjj has become a grappling art not i fighting art, unless you want to talk GRACIE JIU JITSU which if you ask the gracies ( among others) is different then BJJ as BJJ has gone the way of judo, to sport.
by the way shamrock really didnt do much vale tudo you must mean "the king of pancrase"
and actually vale tudo was a tv show of no-holds-barred fights in brazile in the 50's and early 60's

Ken Shamrock is a Joke? I guess I would expect that sort of comment from somebody who can't spell "civilian" or about 10 other common everyday words. Nobody can compare fighters today with past fighters and accurately predict the outcome. The fighters today have progressed far beyond what we saw in UFC 1 - 3. Ken Shamrock is a shell of what he used to be, but that man was a historical fighter, not only in the UFC but also in shoot fighting and Vale Tudo. How about Pardoel is a NOBODY? His 15 minutes of fame was getting choked out by Gracie. You didn't even mention Kimo! Kimo pounded Royce, and he STILL got the submission. Matt Hughes is an awesome guy, but he is very "submittable" as his record shows. This is going to be a great fight, and Matt's youth gives him the advantage, but win or lose, I'd take Royce's experience anyday.
P.S. there is no "Military Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Civilian BJJ", its just Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The only difference is whether YOU are in the military or a "cevilian".
