Trout Limits "Open Shell"

On Wednesday morning the wind was dead calm allowing two-groups of anglers to catch trout limits over shell. Wade fishing with live shrimp was requested. After the duck hunting groups returned, three boats hit the water for a late afternoon session. Fishing was very slow for them. They chunked soft plastics most of the afternoon only to catch a handful of fish. Inland duck hunting offered full-limits of gadwalls, pintails and widgeon. Marsh hunting also gave up full-limits with solid flights of redheads, pintails, teal, bluebills, and widgeon. As of late, taking the hunt to the birds has been the best method of hunting.
Morning Cook Staff, Cook, Guides and Housekeeping "Thank You"
I want to thank the morning staff for their dedicated service. Melissa and Lori arrive each morning at 3:00 AM to cook a hot breakfast. When each guests walks into the great room, they are greeted with a warm smile and friendly voice. Our hunters come up for breakfast at 4:00 AM, and the fishing groups arrive for breakfast at 6:00 AM. Sherman our grill master and evening cook wear's a jolly smile and greets each customer with a warm handshake and salt of the earth personality. If you shoot ducks, and are staying the evening, let Sherman prepare your duck "you shot"- wrapped duck appetizers with bacon, jalapeno's topped with jalapeno kiwi jelly. What a great way to relax around the outdoor kitchen before dinner. Sunny, Mary, and Denise who all lived in Seadrift most of their life do an incredible job at housekeeping. After you return from a full day on the water, you will find clean towels, bedding; your room will look clean like the day you arrived. Our guides are the backbone of our business.
