Well.
I was wrong with some of my pronostications yesterday.
There was some wind-shearing yesterday afternoon and reconnoissance aircraft found no center and a disorginized low.

That was then. This morning looking at infrared maps, reading advisories, checking bouys, etc.
The storm has reorginized and moved almost due North. Winds are still 30+mph.with gusts to 40 mph. and seas at mid-gulf are 10', 5-7'off Galveston(virtual bouys) with Small Craft Warnings in effect.

Although the models still show a more Easterly movement, it looks like this storm may come ashore Saturday sometime in Western Louisiana. It will probably become a named storm also as it's in an area favorable for development.
We'll see.

MARINE WEATHER DISCUSSION FOR GULF OF MEXICO...CARIBBEAN SEA AND
SOUTHWEST NORTH ATLC S OF 31N W OF 55W.

LOW PRES IN THE SW GULF OF MEXICO CURRENTLY LOCATED NEAR 23N96W.
THE LOW COMBINED WITH THE HIGH PRES ALONG THE E COAST OF THE
U.S. IS PRODUCING ELY WINDS 20 TO 25 KT ACROSS MUCH OF THE GULF
AT THIS TIME. THE LOW IS FORECAST TO THE N WITH THE ETA BRINGING
THE LOW INLAND OVER WESTERN LOUISIANA LATE SAT INTO SAT
NIGHT...WHILE THE GFS STALLS THE LOW OFF THE LOUISIANA COAST FRI
NIGHT THROUGH SUN. THERE IS THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE LOW COULD
DEVELOP INTO A TROPICAL CYCLONE...AS THIS IS ONE OF THE
FAVORABLE AREAS FOR DEVELOPMENT THIS TIME OF YEAR. EITHER WAY
EXPECT STRONG WINDS ACROSS THE GULF THROUGH SUN.

mcgolfer,
That's no decision at all, The SCA banquet is the only choice.
Need some raffle tickets?
