Well, I would post up some pics..... BUT, after having two cameras up for the past 3 weeks, I got about 60 pics of nothing!!!!


Nothing but trees, and cactus, and ground. I was wondering if you all get a bunch of pics with nothing in them. If so, what do you think is triggering the camera? Can wind do it? How about birds? What can I do to get less false triggers?



Also, I'm wondering if something is triggering the cam while it's walking by, and by the time the camera shoots, it's already gone.

The next mounting point will be facing the direction of the actual paths. Maybe right in a fork. Right now the cameras are on trees along the paths, but taking pictures perpendicular to the paths.

Depends on the speed of the trigger. You are probably getting the pics. after the animal passes. Try putting on a feeder or just pointing in the direction they are coming from. My Leaf River works good, but its on a feeder.

I have a feeder, and I've gotten pictures of animals at it, but I wanted to try something different. I wanted to go into the thick brush to see what lives/ roams in there. I have a feeling that's where the true monsters are... not that right now is a real good time to tell. But they should already be growing in velvet.

I have read that the Cuddebacks have the fastest trigger time. Good luck, its just fun playing with the cameras. And kinda like Xmas when you check the pics.

As said before it is most likely your trigger speed. My digital stealth cam had about an 8 sec trigger time, before the cows got to it and ruined it. The newer cameras they are making now seem to have faster trigger times.

During the heat of the summer, you will probably get more blank pictures.

If you really want it on a trail, you can try putting out a deer block or something else to slow them down a little.

are the pics. at night? I once had a roll of nothing, then I had a couple of adult beberages and looked a little harder, and saw about 10 hogs. they are hard to see at night unless they are right up close.

We have had weeds blowing back and forth in front of the camera and got rolls of nothing but that and, yes, birds can set them off.

Wind Is NOT your friend.

Your problem is the wind blowing the brush.Trim the brush in the viewing area.

I've got two.
One is a StealthCam bought at Academy for approx $170.
The other is a WildView bought online from Cabelas for $99.

I don't know which models they are, that's why I gave prices (maybe you know the model based on price). The Stealthcam uses 8 "D" batteries, and the WildView uses 4 "C" batteries. Both are around 2 Megapixels.

Our cameras are sensitive to the sun light. They say not to set them facing to the east or west.

Birds

Yes, birds will set it off. We have several pictures of birds from the Stealth Cam. I would post one, but I can't post pictures to this web site from work anymore....
