I went to the 59 river bridge on the Trinity today and put my death trap 10' john boat in for some crabbing. It quickly becomes a live well/boat combo but It's too rugged for my big boat there.
The crabs were not there today, first time after storm, but I did catch some sunfish in the crab traps and cut one for catfish bait.
I had several good runs(setting the hook and not turning over were conflicting forces) and connected on two nice cats one 27" the other a bit smaller around 2lbs.
Pretty soon my old bones had enough of the cramped john boat and I called it a day.

looks like you got something to eat! talked to Gator Gar they are around White Rock and CHALK Bluff jugging .They had a 120 qt full this morning on beef heart and cut pearch.

Livewell boat combo sounds fun.Been in many of them.We would take turns bailing water and fishing.
