Treasure Island KHOU video

http://www.khou.com/video/news-index.html?nvid=282686&shu=1

Just watched half of this video. Starts at the County Park at SLP and focuses great on Treasure Island. Most structures look fine. Older homes have shingles missing. Maybe a boat washed up on yards. Probably water in lower sheds/garage, but amazing intact. We have good friends there.
Video turns over toll bridge, too far to tell if it's OK, but there weren't obvious sections missing from what I could see. Hoping video flys over Moody Island/Titlum Tatlum. We have the 3rd house in on left, counting the small one on the point. Good luck to all.

Called into Surfside PD today - Blue Water Hwy is washed out in large sections. LEOs are using 4-wheelers to travel.

Looks like only way in is by water... unless someone has a Huey sitting around :slimer:

If you go in as far as Bastrop bay I would like to know if the octagonal house on the shoreline next to the intercoastal canal is still there.....family holding. It is the only house on that shore line.

Visual Update on Moody Island/Titlum Tatlum

This is Gil's son, Bert in Tennessee. They are in Manvel, safe but without Power. He just called as one of our TT Islanders called him with a visual. From the point nearest Treasure Isle, the small cabin on the point is gone. Next house Eddie's (formerly Corky's) is gone. Our cabin is next, survived (only god knows how) with window/minimal damage. Next is Jimmy Lefever's white house is almost gone. Then Kyle's house, Light blue is OK. Next is the Teal Blue (broaddus' former camp) is gone. The Baties Green monster is in Shambles. Right Rear Admiral Richard Brown's Brown/White camp is there but damaged. Next dark Brown (dwayne's old camp) is OK. Yellow house by itself is heavily damaged. Fishing tourney house is OK, some roof damage. Didn't get next camp. The Aggies have light damage. Then Pink Flamingo has Heavy damage. The stilt house in the cedars has heavy damage/destroyed. Ginger's camp on the end (white) is heavily damaged. And the Mud Island camp (roy's old camp) is gone. Sorry to relay this news. I know everyone is anxious to find anything out. I am not sure who called Dad to relay this, but I will find out and post. Also will ask if they have photos that I can post. If any of you need me to look for info on someplace or someone, you can email me in Tennessee at [email protected]. Godspeed. Bert Livanec

I'm worried now that I read TNredfish's report, but I spoke to Eddie Stitt yesterday. He has pics of all the camps, but no way to send them and no power in Alvin. If you want his number, PM me and I'll get it to you ASAP.

Unfortunately he lost everything. I asked him about your house Matt. I said the aqua blue one, and he said yours came out better than all the rest. I sure hope Eddie didn't misunderstand me about which one I was asking about. Either that or I hope TNredfish got it wrong. (No offense bro, I appreciate the effort, but I know your report is wrong about our place. I appreciate the effort anyway. Green coming your way.) I called David yesterday and told him what I thought was good news right after I spoke with Eddie.

We have the one on Mud Island. It is not gone, it is standing. The NE walls were blown out, 60% of the roof gone, dock and steps gone, all windows he could see are blown out. But it is still there. I'll be out Saturday to cover what I can and get a handle on things. What ramp do y'all think would be best from Angleton? Thanks Y'all. - Sandy

Oh Man Matt. I'm so sorry. I've been exactly where you are. My profuse apologies to both of you for a false report. Y'all are welcomed at our place while you rebuild. Though our place is not much of a place anymore either. - Sandy

I would love to see pics. A friend of mine called and said his brothers was leaning and probably have to be rebuilt with another house right up to or against theirs. I think my dads made it ok, which blows my mind. Anyone know about the bright green one, where the Tit Tat tourny is hosted? A friend of my dads went out there to look but my dad is so busy with trying to get his plant started back up I hate to bother him with questions.

Just wanted to update this:

As far as the one in the salt cedars. I just saw pics myself and it doesn't look bad at all on the outside. I've just seen pics of all the camps on Tit-Tat. Ours is still there, but we lost a room, dock, and most of the porch all the way around. The fluorescent green one is looking fine too. Of course outside looks can be deceiving. Ours looks perfect from the south, but from the north it's a different story. All the other pics I've seen from the front, so there may be damage that is not visible on the back and sides too. I'm ready to start fixing up right now!

If anyone wants to see the photos, Eddie Stitt took them yesterday. He does not have internet access yet. My only access is at school and they are about to kick me out of here. If you PM me, I'll give you Eddie's number and you can ask him to email you specific shots.

Hopefully we can put Titlum Tatlum back together again. - Sandy

Treasure Island, I am just glued to all the forums and watching everything.. i am just hoping and praying as i read forums that the ones in need get the help and those blessed can rest a bit for awhile.

If someone don't mind, can you explain to me from Treasure Island, behind Brite Lite, where is Titlum Tatlum located?

And do any of you know if the houses around the bulkhead, as you come out of the San Luis Pass Boat ramp and take a left survived well?

Angie -

Titlum Tatlum is the bayou between Mud & Moodys.

Are you talking about the public boat ramp or the T.I. boat ramp?

The houses at the North point of the subdivision (where the one with the red roof is) fared well, except for the downstairs - which is gone.

Hoping to get there this weekend to help out. I'll take as many pictures as my camera will hold.

TF
