I remember Camille well. I was in basic training at Ft. Knox when I got a letter from my ex-wife (fiance at the time) telling me that it was headed for the coast and her grandparents house at Coden, AL was in danger. I called her and it had just passed through and destroyed the house. Sad because she grew up in an alcoholic home and Coden was the only place she felt safe (her parents wouldn't drink there and she was often there with her grandparents). Also, it needed extensive upgrades to bring it up to code to keep the insurance in effect. They had upgraded everything and only needed to have the front steps completed and the inspection done when the storm hit. No insurance and just a few days early. Yep - I remember her well.
