South Shore Harbour! I'll never leave there!

Our boat was on 11, properly secured, and didn't even get a scratch!

The only boats I saw with dings were the ones that used POS lines, or never came down to re-tie for the hurricane. (A piece of mind is waiting for them when I see them...) I tied up several with my lines, so I wouldn't get damaged.

If you want to see how high the pier got, there is a mark on one of the starboard side poles near the end.

I was at SSH Pier 13 on Monday and couldn't even find a scratch on a boat. There was some sail damage on most sailboats but no Eisenglass damage even on boats left up. I was relieved to see that one marina faired so well because driving in from Houston you will see many many boats aground or sunk.

What I learned about hurricanes this go around is that if you have a place on the coast make sure that you realize one day it can disappear, if you have a boat on a trailer make sure that it is nowhere near the storm surge, if you have a boat in the water make sure it is on a floating dock, and if you have a family home make sure that it is high above the storm surge and has a backup permanent generator. And finally I found a good reason to drive an obnoxious diesel truck in downtown Houston, everywhere had diesel and fuel was not hard to come by.
