Before we know it Teal season will be over. Lets get a 2cool teal count going. I'll start with my embarrassing hunt from this morning.

2 man limit monday w/ a banded bird (hockley), 9 birds tuesday w/ 5 guys (hockley), 1 bird wednesday (beasley), 9 birds today w/ 3 guys (hockley), and tomorrow we are off to my lease in dayton where I think we are going to smack them since no one has hunted it bc of Ike...

First Time Out This Year

Finally got to hunt yesterday(Sept 17). Two man limit in about 15 minutes. Saw about 200 birds within shooting range. When we stopped hunting about 100 birds landed (2 flocks) next to our decoys. Can't wait to go again this weekend!

Good today

Great teal hunt today inside the bay marsh. Scouted yesterday while wade fishing and large concentrations of teal landed over sheet water due to stacked high tides. Will hit them again in the AM. We had full limits with mostly all blue wing teal.

Got 24 more (6 guys) on my lease in Dayton on Saturday AM, didn't shoot a single bird for the first hour and then saw close to 10,000 birds after the fog lifted. Lots of big ducks including pintails, gaddys, mottleds, and even a group of mallards... Never seen so many birds during teal season.

The teal hunting continues to be great in El Campo also. Shot 4 man limits on Friday in a flooded grass field in 15 min, had some good groups of 30-40 birds decoying. We had one other party hunting and they also shot 5 man limits. Shot another 4 man limit in the same hole on Saturday, but it took a good while due to poor shooting and the fog really had the birds not wanting to get right in the decoys. We had two other parties out and they also shot full limits. Hunted a flooded rice field on Sunday and shot 6 man limits in 30 min. Pulled the truck up right behind the blind to load all the gear and still had birds decoying to the mojo. Those bluewings just can't stay away from the mojo. We had 3 other parties on Sunday and they all shot limits as well. I'll be back at them this Fri, Sat, and Sun.
