heres the deal... whilst I wade I like to carry a small clear ultility box filled with the essentails. either a small Shimano or Plano box... I usually attach a strap to two corners and wear it as a bandoleer... strap hangs on right should and the box lays by my left hip... I need a new system... that idea is gettin old and painful now... what is a better way to carry my essentails?................JJ

JJ, I carry the same system. It's a box that's in a blue bag. Enough for me to put about 6 tops(3 bigones-3 smallerones), some suspending lures, a few weedless spoons, and a few bags of plastics. I usually keep my jigheads stuck in my cork on the end of my stringer. I don't carry my big tackle box with me much anymore. I'm keeping it simple these days. Too much tackle...too much confusion. Keep it simple and in the water.

When I wade I use many ways of carrying lures. I put a small box in one shirt pocket and platics in the other. Sometimes I use a bag on my wadebelt to put the box in, or I also sometimes use a donet with a larger box tie-wraped to one side, or if I'm using my wadeaid I stick the box in the right rear pouch, OR if it's the surf I use an old beat-up straw hat with a band of neoprene around the crown or a cap with neoprene glued on the bill. I think that's all the ways.

PS. The best way is tie on a topwater and don't lose it!

Try.....

an old tackle bag box......silicone it to a piece of styrofoam of equal or slightly larger size. Be sure the box, has a tab on it with a hole...tie a piece of rope to it, and tie the other end to your belt. I got this idea, from a picture of Mr Heavy-D. I use a box, that isn't water proof, and haven't had any problems, however, if I would have had a water proof box, I would have used it.

in my Plano box (its perdy thick) I carry 4 top dog jr.s, 4 corky big boys, 4 regular cories, 4 super spook jr.s, 6 spoons, a few glass and plastic beads, a few split shot, a few bullet weights, and some replacement treble hooks w/ split rings. If I take soft plastics I stick a bag or two in my Wade Aid. My box is jammed packed but organized..........JJ

What I do

I took one of those do-net and attached 2 large plano tackle boxes (each has like 6 or 7 dividers) to it with plastic ties. In one, I carry all the topwaters and corkies I could ever use on a wade (About 12 lures) and the other box is dedicated to all the plastics. I also have a small (like 3X4) thats divided into 4 compartments. I put 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and plain hooks in the four. This box is stuck in my pocket on my shirt.

2 tops
2 corkys
2 catch 2000 or 51M

Keep in a small box inside my waders kind of under and a little behind the pit. No waders - same box in a small waterproof bag (the roll down type you can get at acadamey) attached to my belt. Sometimes the bag leaks but that is OK with me. Less is more. I used to have a bag with twice as much stuff slung over my shoulder and found that I got a crick in my shoulder by the end of the day. Everything was swimming in saltwater all day.
