There may be exceptions, but almost all shrimp is flash frozen right on the boat. Still good but I don't think you can find never frozen iced shrimp anymore unless maybe some small bay shrimper. Just what I have observed and been told.

Johnboat, I load up with fresh shrimp a day after the season opens every year from Milts. They are not frozen since they are from the beachfront most years. Now, I freeze them and they generally last 9 months before I'm out.
