Just bought a 2001 70 HP 4 stroke Suzuki. The original owner always flushed with ear muffs on the lower unit. He NEVER used the upper flush port. I'm trying to get the plastic plug out, but it is severely corroded and I'm just breaking pieces off.
Does anyone have an idea on how to remove the stub. I don't want to damage the metal threads on the block, and a heat gun might be too much. Someone said there is a tool to extract broken plastic plugs like this. Thanks.

Cut hole in the center and stick a large screw driver in it. Putting a hole in the center will help it loose strength. Then try to turn it.

Another option is drill out carefully the center and pry the plastic edges down with a screw driver and pliers. Spray in some CLR first and it may help free it.

I'll try this and let you know. Thank you. Dealer said heat it, then pry out with metal probes.
