Have any of you bought one of the garage kits like they have for sale at Sutherlands? Need to build one soon and was wondering if this was the way to go, or just buy all the material and do it my self. The good thing about the kit is that it would come with a set of plans. Let me know what you'll think or experiences that you have had.

build it from scratc hand you will get better lumber, plans are avail at the library etc.

I just removed one (dbl car, 28x36) that I had built back in '83 from scratch. The new one from scratch will be using 10' studs, HardiBoard and sheet metal roof (16' panels from McCoys). This gives a good lower edge overhang/drip line and a good semi steepAngle for the gable. Like the man said, go scratch, pick good matl and it will last.
