My surge brake actuator is leaking. Is this something that can be redressed or rebuilt or is the only option to replace the whole thing? It seems to be in decent shape overall but it's dripping and I have to keep adding fluid. It's a Tie Down actuator model TDE-6-something unreadable.
thanks,
Sammy

Are you sure it's the master cylinder. Could be the line from the master cylinder be leaking or the connection? However, if not you may be able get a rebuild kit for TieDown master cylinder. Looks like they have changed most of the model numbers. They may still use the same master cylinder, so they may have rebuild kits I have been both ways on master cylinders/actuators and I have found it's easier to buy a new master cylinder, install it, bleed the system and go. Generally, for the money difference it's almost as cheap to replace. Saves a lot of time and work. JMO...

Also, when I have done the master cylinder, I generally replace the reverse lockout, dampers and anything that shows wear just to be safe.
