Anybody here send their kids to Camp?

I have my two older ones at Camp Olympia.

Just curious to see if anyone else was into that. I never went as a youth, but had friends that did and they all loved it. So we are lucky enough this year to have ours get to go (it ain't free).

My twins will be heading up to PA for a week at camp with their twin cousins again this year. Last year was their first time and they loved it. The week after camp they'll all be down here, four 14 Y/O girls (2 sets of twins) might just prove to be more then I can stand. I'll be looking for Daddy camp that week!!

Camp

I never went to camp as a kid but I was a counselor at this one during the summer of '85. http://www.friendlypines.com/

Twelve 11-12 year old boys in my cabin. One of them started a forest fire in the national forest. His name was Vince. "Dan, Dan can I light the fire?" every time it was time to cook. What a trip!

I went to Camp Stewart for 6 years from the ages 9-14. My little bro is carrying on the tradition as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone, it is located in Hunt, Texas the absolute most gorgeous spot in all of Texas

camp

My son goes to Camp Longhorn in Burnet. This is his 4th year. I never went, but my wife went for years. It is like a cult in my opinion(LOL). She signed him up the week he was born!

I was a counseler at Camp Stewart for a couple of years back in the early 80's.

I met my wife 15 yrs ago at a summer camp while we were campers. Been together ever since. Even went back a couple years after we met and worked there together.

My son is going to YMCA Day camp this year. He's only 6. In a few more years, we'll send him to a week long camp somewhere.

Just got back (literally) from Cub Scout Day Camp at Camp Strake. Awesome time, a little hot, but awesome. The kids liked it too! Even got to hang out with FishinChick for a while today... Not too bad of a deal!

My baby is too young, but I went to Heart O' The Hills in Hunt (outside of Kerrville) and it was the coolest experience ever. We rode horses, shot archery, swam, learned about life, etc. I went for 3 years when I was probably 8, 9, and 10. It was a very high class camp. I also went to Camp Champions in Marble Falls one year, but it didn't compare to Heart O' the Hills.

YMCA Camp Grady Spruce on Possum Kingdom Lake. BSA Camp Constatine, Camp Texoma & Cherokee...all more than once. I'll be joining my son at BSA El Ranco Cima River Camp this summer. We'll be working Fishing Merit Badge together!

We tell our Scouts that summer camp is an experience they will never forget. It's true. 30+ years later I still remember "most" of mine.

my daughter is at "camp champions" near marble falls, and she loves it. it's a great place in a beautiful part of the hill country. they keep them going in various activities practically from dawn to dusk. my son normally goes, too, but he just got out of the hospital as a result of ruptured appendix.
