After Surfsideperson's tip, I decided to head down to Quintana Beach for the first time. I have been skunked all year, and I was looking forward to ending the drought. Got in the surf around 5:00 and never moved from the second gut. the trout were chasing shrimp on top and several times I caught myself just watching the action. I caught 7 keepers that were all 20" or better and a few throwbacks along with a giant skipjack. All were caught on red and white touts between the 2nd and 3rd bars. All of the action took place in about 45 mins and they either turned off or moved on.

Entered on the main road(14??) and turned left toward the jetties. I stopped where the dunes(bluff) stopped and there was a fence that started. Hope this helps, but I do not know the area very well. First time down there for me.

We fished back to the right yesterday. Water looked good but, got nothing. We were on past the shrimp boat.
