Just to let everyone know my father went fishing WED. to the north Jetties. On his way home he stopped in Jack in the box in TEXAS CITY for a burger and when he came out all his rods and reels were gone. It sad when the events happen because pathetic people cant buy thier own. He was not in the restaurant for maybe 10min in and out. So if you are in Texas City I recommend someone stay at your vehicel or put your rods inside your vehicle so turds like this cant steal your stuff.

It's sad to say but I make it a point to never make any stops from my house to the ramp except for gas and then I'm just paying with the credit card at the pump. When I'm alone I don't even get bait at Boyd's because you have to walk in the store to pay, I just get it at the first small shack as you turn into the dike. One less thing to worry about.

Good Advice

Taht bites, sorry about the loss.

Good advice for all to heed.

This isn't the first time I've heard of this happening around Texas City.

Galveston isn't much better.

A good freind's son was having a bite after surfing earlier this summer.
When he notices some older guy looking in the back of his truck then the guy starts opening his surfboard bag and pulling out his brand spanking new board.
Well this 17 year old, 6'2", 260 lb, defensive linemen walks up behind him and POW!! Hit him as hard as he can. The guy drops like a sack of potatos. The boy drags him from behind the truck and drives off.
I have a feeling that dude won't try that again.

this is something you should watch out for wherever you are, whether it's in texas city, houston, freeport, corpus christie, or anywhere.

also, i doubt they took your stuff because they can't buy their own. they probably took it to sell so they could score some crack.

I never leave my rods and reels out for display in the boat if I have to go inside somewhere. I have a Tahoe, so I just open the back and secure them there till I get back out. There's been a many a rod and reels stolen right out from Boyd's parking lot. Even your ice chest is a target as it was there before too.
Last time I went to Boyd's, which was just the other day, I had my cousin wait by the boat.
Sorry to hear the loss. It definitely bites the big one.

its easier to just put your rods in your truck
that way they dont get full of dirt or get hit my a rock on the highway
also they wont blow out of the back of the truck or boat and wont get stolen
sorry to hear about his rods ,hopefully they will show up

I had my side window busted out of my suv about 5 yrs ago on the dike, they took all the goodies they could find while I was
wade fishing the Island on the left. Dont ever park on the dike and walk off. There are fake fishermen there, appear to be fishing but only waiting for opportunity.
