Alot of folks may know this but a few like me did not. I always thought the state flounder record was 13.lbs./28" taken on Feb 18, 1976 by one Mr. H. Endicott from Sabine Lake.

Well this is true and no. It was caught on a rod and reel but the real state records where taken by gig by the same man.

Anyone know of a Mr. Davey Wright?

Seems on Nov 29, 2002 he nailed one at 10.5 lbs/29.5" and then the next month, on Dec 10, 2002 he stabbed a behemoth flounder that went
14.5 lbs/34.5" !!! Think about that. That flounder was one and one half inch away from being three feet long.

If anyone knows more on the details of this event Id sure like to know.
Especially curious as to what body of water she came from?

My info comes from the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.
