Hi there,
I am a new member and I have noticed several comments about drag greasing of lighter reels (Curados, Chronarchs, etc). If you clean your own reels, try this at least one time. Clean your reel as usual. Oil and grease as usual. Take the drag washers off and clean all the grease off. Coat them with dry graphite powder and put them back on. You will have the smoothest drag you ever can imagine! The trick is to keep the reel clean and never dip it in the water. DO NOT use line over 20 lbs....you won't be able to stop it. This is for 1 - 17 lb line only.
Best I have found!
Good luck.

The new drag washers are a graphite type material. We designed them to operate with our drag grease for reduced start up inertia. Graphite powder may cause the drags to spike slightly.

Thanks for the info. With the weather going down hill fast, I will be tearing all my reels down for cleaning. I'll check into the new drag washers.
