I just got in from Pam's Place in League City. Shake Russell played live, and what sweet music. I caught up with folks that I went to high school with, when we heard those tunes live for the first time 25 years ago. Some of them, were the ones that still remembered when I rode my SilverWing to law school. My first room mate was there too. Shake hooked me up with their first tape, aka first CD these days, "Songs on the Radio". Deep in the West is playing long and loud tonight. I must be getting old. Anyone remember Cardies? Shake does, so do I.

Too bad Dana Cooper wasn't there also. Now that would have been a Cardi's moment. Man, I must be old too!

All kidding aside, it was like being in a time machine last night. I knew at least half of the audience, and sat with friends that I used to ride dirt bikes with. When Shake started making the rounds, selling CD's, I would have sworn it was 1979 all over again. I pulled out of there at midnight for the ride home, on my bike, wondering how it had all passed by so quickly. Most of my friends have kids that are older than we were, when we were sneaking into bars in high school. If memory serves, I was 16 the first time I saw Shake play. Time flies.....

No sir, I don't remember what it was called. I think I remember there wasn't anything out there but a club and a stadium....
circa 1968/1969 and we also played in that place (if it's the same building - South side of the stadium) and was then called, "Sam Kensey's Teen Canteen." LOL! That was back when only memories were in color everything else was black and white. Weird thinking all them girls we danced with then are all prolly Grandmas now. LOL! CF?

Arlington Square, man I haven't thought about that place in years. That old Plymouth was the only car I ever rode in that would do an honest 140. It took from League City to Dickinson to get it stopped. We used to come through League City at a 100 and not even flinch. Those parties down on the end of Doc Davis road at Suzanne's house rocked too.

I still can't get over last night. It was like someone turned the clock back 25 years and there we all were again. Shake even said good night to me from the stage as I left out of there. Now if I can just get Deep in the West outta my head in time to go back to work manana.....nawwww, nevermind.

Feels good to go back in time don't it Big Guy, sounds like I missed out on some fun... Dang it, kinda makes you thank the Lord that we made it thru our younger years.... From League city to Dickenson to get her stopped cracked me up, I had a few times that I didn't get her stopped,,,, Opp's......

Was one of the guys you saw last night that you used to ride dirt bikes with one of the ones you took to the hospital? He has red hair.

Glen, I didn't see David. but Danny, Don, Pinson, Liz Anne, Lisa and lots more folks were there. Jon's brother was there too.

Darrell, that Plymouth had drum brakes all around, and I ain't kidding one bit about how long it took to stop when you are going at 140. Those 440's would crank some high end horsepower out, like no other engine ever did. I ran a Dodge Little Red Express truck that had the small block 360 and I was king of redlights in those days. Dang thing would swap ends of ya, if you didn't steer to the right from the get go. I paid $6800 for it brand new, and it would be worth 20 grand in good shape these days.
Last night made me feel young again. Hard to believe how fast time has passed.

Arlington Square -

I'm just glad there aren't many pictures from back then. There was another place in Houston that Russell & Cooper started playing in the late 80's and '81. I can't remember the name of it though. Wish I could have made it out on Saturday.

Monty was the envy of League City with that red Dodge truck back in the day!

Liz Anne is Danny's older sister and Lisa is Don's baby sister, Glen. Bill, I should have been on the defensive line with you and the rest of them in those days, but the old man needed someone that could turn a wrench. Plus, it still pays pretty good. ;) I saw Coach Bailey at the store, last week. We could always count on him to let us off campus for lunch at Reynolds BBQ with Odie serving us boys lunch. Heck, half the teaching staff took their lunch there too.

That new Dodge Magnum is looking hot. There might just be another red Dodge running the streets in League City before long.
