Bp tx city hits phase II tomorrow at 7am. that means doubletime! this place does not have their ***** together though. LOL We will shut down starting thursday at about 4pm. my last night is thursday. but instead of letting "d" shift come to work fri. morn at 6 we get to stay until fire dept (ride out team) shows up 12 hours before landfal.. so i guess ill be working 18-20 hours thursday into friday afternoon.

Then they want to put us on a plane out of elington to san ant. where our family's have reserved rooms.

I live in baytown, and if landfal stays more then 100 miles away from g-town, which means 140-150 miles from me, im staying home!!!

Now they say the rooms will be available as early as tomorrow afternoon in san antonio. Maybe ill just send the wife and son out anyways and they can go check out sea world again or something!

Take advantage of it. Here at BASF they won't tell us if we are or not yet. We should know tomorrow sometime. Ill be on the cane team which rides it out. We don't get plane rides or rooms reserved Worst comes to worst we get in the big van and go to Houston. Im at cat 1. what i dont understand is why they wont make d shift come in fri morn and let the ride out crew relieve them. o well, do what we got to do. My wife said she wont make that drive alone and fight the traffic. if she leaves she will wait for me to get home and we will leave baytown and head to her familys in bryan

Im at lyondell and we will find out tomorrow at 2pm if we will start clearing inventory. We are at half rates now from gustav.And yeah double time is sweet!

Working my 3 nites here @ Akzo Nobel.Will get off Friday morning.I ran a charter Monday and hauled the boat back from Matty that afternoon.Man ...that was good timing.LOL..I'm thinking about riding my motorcycle to work Thursday nite so I can be at more of an advantage in traffic.Of course I'll be going against traffic, but just don't know how bad it will be.I'm not leaveing....got plenty of "beer,bait and ammo too!"

Storm Crew

Finishing up a "four on" Wednesday night and then come back on Thursday night as the STORM CREW until sometime Sunday. Round the clock pay is looking pretty good! Not too worried though, I'm at the safest plant on the entire Gulf Coast. And if Ike makes landfall in either Matagorda Bay, I've got a front row seat.

The guys that rode out Rita brought home over 11K on their paycheck for that pay period.

Latest model moved it further down south. Bp reps said if it went further south, they would push off phase 3. So we will just have to wait and see

Family first......job second !All the OT in the world isn't worth it.I'd rather be there to protect my family and personal property....and help my friends and local LEO if the need arises.Think about this......something happens to a family member while your at work ( " cane crew " ) and that something could have been prevented if you were there with them.Not good! I was on the " cane crew " last year....not this year.....I'm going to the house !I can always get another plant job but I can't replace a family member!

My thoughts exactly! Why I dropped my name from the list this year. Specially since they haven't even asked this year whose on the team, had a meeting, made plan's, ect....seem's like it's alway's a free for all circle jerk cluster when one of these things come around.

They have yet to invent the pay scale that will get me on a hurricane ride out crew . My plant is about a well struck 4 iron from the edge of Galveston bay. Not now, not ever.

Working a new construction project at Philips Old Ocean don't think the plant knows what they are doing yet. We are securing equipment and don't plan on working Friday or Saturday.
