I made it in to my house in Shoreacres.I had to wade in from 146,water in my driveway is waist deep.My house was spared and I am so happy and relieved,my garage is wiped out, lost a bran new generator, air compressor, freezer, window unit, two 4 wheelers and worst of all my beautiful 67 Chevelle got flooded.I put it up on jack stands but the water got to high and I am sick from it but also relieved that my place was spared.

There appeared to be waste deep water from 146 all the way to the shorecres pier. The houses in Bayou Forest didnt get flooded according to a fellow that went by in a paddle boat.He said a couple may have got water. There are a lot of big trees and fences down all over.We dont have any power either. If you have the shoreacres issued card and a drivers license you can get in as long as you do it before curfew. There are a lot of LEO's out and one at every exit. They are not letting anyone into Laporte until tommorow morning.

My house sits 12 ft above sea level so if you are that high you may be OK.

Glenn, we are headed back tomorrow to see if there is anything left of our house. Did you get down by our house? I hear it's not good down there. I'm hoping for the best but not expecting it! We stayed in Victoria. Didn't get any rain here at all and probably 25-30 mph winds was all.

Doug the water was just to high to get down there.I wanted to check on my moms, yours and Keiths house but there was just no way without a small boat.I'm at work and will be here until I get power back or they make me leave.

Shell has initiated the no interest loans for up to 10,000 and 160 per day if you have to stay in a hotel or with a friend.

Call my cell if you need me to do anything. My place is in good shape compared to others in the neighborhood so I will do what I can to help you guys out.

From the sounds of it I guess I've lost everything. We only got out with some clothes and photo albums and my guns. I'm coming in this evening to drop off some generators to family that still has a home just no electricity. This freaking rain has just made the water come back up. I was hoping to at least be able to asses the damage. I guess i'm not going to need my generator for a few days if you need to use it.

I have been watching the Shoreacres city website but updates dont come soon enough.I'm stuck at work and dont have any scheduled relief for my job,so right now I'm stuck on 24 hours.

Give me a call if you get a chance.
