I made it in to my house in Shoreacres.I had to wade in from 146,water in my driveway is waist deep.My house was spared and I am so happy and relieved,my garage is wiped out, lost a bran new generator, air compressor, freezer, window unit, two 4 wheelers and worst of all my beautiful 67 Chevelle got flooded.I put it up on jack stands but the water got to high and I am sick from it but also relieved that my place was spared.
There appeared to be waste deep water from 146 all the way to the shorecres pier. The houses in Bayou Forest didnt get flooded according to a fellow that went by in a paddle boat.He said a couple may have got water. There are a lot of big trees and fences down all over.We dont have any power either. If you have the shoreacres issued card and a drivers license you can get in as long as you do it before curfew. There are a lot of LEO's out and one at every exit. They are not letting anyone into Laporte until tommorow morning.
My house sits 12 ft above sea level so if you are that high you may be OK.
