I have had a Tica reel now for two years and it's in perfect condition. The shimanos I have had are in good shape, but not as good of shape as the Tica. With the way the prices are on the Shimano's I am thinking of getting some of the Tica's instead. What do ya'll think of them? Do any of you use them? I primarily use spinning reels. www.ticaamerica.com

take that one apart and look at the springs and general parts quality, if it is not full of rust , it may be ok, but getting parts may be another problem.

shimano has one of the best parts and diagram sources around.

OTH They are sold by Kevin Shaw in Corpus(Stiffy pushpoles) I have never had a problem with it, very smooth.

Coastal, I will have to take it a part. I have not needed to do so, it works as good as the day I bought it. The only thing I do to it after fishing is wash it with fresh water, still looks pretty new!
