Went down the morning of July 3rd looking for blacktip sharks. Left GYC around 9am and headed to the end of the north jetty to start a long drift inward. Caught many sand sharks within the next couple of hours but they were small, no bigger than 4 foot. Didn't catch a black tip. It was the first time I have tried drifting off the north jetty and I heard it was a very good spot, but all we found were small sand sharks. Has anyone been shark fishing over there before? Just wondering if I was out far enough or if I needed to head out past the jetties? Went to the rigs about 20 miles off later and caught a nice blacktip. Water was a little rough but not too bad.

water may be too brakish right now after all the rain the past few weeks. bull sharks don't mind but other sharks probably do.
