1923 a product called Marvin's Mystery Oil was introduced. Your water separator will get the water if replaced every 25 to 30 hours. This oil takes care of the rest. I had floats freeze up on my 1999 Johnson, had to pull the carbs only to find a spec of rust on the pin the floats run up and down on. That's just sitting up a month. I started using the oil (cheap) in my generators and lawn motors. Haven't had a problem since. This pink staybil is for storing at about $14 a bottle. I feel the advice from an old salt and motor repair guy was worth the mystery oil. I store and run it in my motors as gas treatment and fuel system lube. The corn oil in our gas is worst than the water if stored to long. It turns you gas milky orange. Mystery oil seems to keep it clean.
