Well, I went down to FTU and got a set up to build a rod for my dad for Christmas. Thanks again for your help terry. Got the grips and reel seat set, sanded down how I wanted it, tied all the guides and a little glue to hold the tip. I set the rod in the flex coat thread spool set up, walk around it to grab a beer to drink while I put thread on the tip, SNAP! I'll be danged if it didn't snag my shorts and break off the last 3 inches. @&$*!!!! It was a "clean" break, the blank didn't split length wise. Can I heat the tip off and move some guides around and it still be fine. 90 dollar 10M blank, so I would realllly like to salvage this guy. Pm me if you'd rather call me about it.

Can't recall the brand, it's a 10m med heavy for inshore bay trout, my dad doesn't fish a whole lot, throws 12 pounds mono, original length 7', I'm thinking I just epoxy the tip to the broken part and not mention it, he will never know, itsa spinning rod
