Kentucky Lake

I've never personally fished down there.....The ramp is only like 7 miles below pickwick dam, I'am told.......this area is called the catfish capital of the world by some, and I know they're some nice ones down there.......Locking to Pickwick lake will be optional at the anglers own risk......these waters are also home to Phil King, the top rated catter in the world.......and one of our own members post allot of reports from that area "Mudd Catt"

Hard to beat!

Phil is the local to beat! He was taught by some of the best, but he also has an advantage - he listens to locals A LOT! But, I got an advantage, I listen to the same people, and was taught by some of the same people that taught Phil. But he is still hard to beat. The boat ramp is only about 1/2 mile if they are putting in at the public ramp. If they use the old Bellis's ramp, it is about 1.5 miles below the dam. Technically speaking, They say that Kentucky Lake starts right behind Pickwick Dam, like Pickwick starts behind Wilson, but the locals say that it doesn't start until you get WAAAAAYYY down river. And yes, Kentucky has some of the best crappie fishing around.
