This is on the Matagorda Peninsula. We were there this last Sunday.

Some more. There were quite a lot of children's toys. We picked up quite a few buckets as well.
That's what every post-weekend visit to the Dike used to look like.

I thought it was a drive down PINS
Wow!! I wonder how many hours were logged on that front porch swing? I know we spent a huge amount of time on ours at our old beach house. Sure brings back memories!
I attended an offshore Training course wayyyy back, and they showed us a film called
"nothing goes in the gulf", it showed us that everything that you throw out in the gulf somehow ends up washing ashore from matagorda to brownsville !!
The items you can find washing up are far from over. Beach clean up this year will be a lot of work and probably very interesting as well. Lots of stuff.
now that is a bunch of beach buildign material. But truely I have to agree this will be a busy beach clean up year.
400 entries for sharkathon this year... lots of big bonfires this weekend, and lots of flat tires
Ya `that stuff is all down here also, wonder how far south it goes.
One of the people we saw found a lot of those big rubbermaid containers and they had someones address on them from Crystal Beach. I was wondering how far down the debris went also.
We were down on PINS last weekend and the debris field was from 4ft up the dunes to the daily high tide line everywhere. Thousands of tons of plastic, furniture, a sailboat, hot tub, lumber of all sizes (including whole pier and deck sections) and just plain trash. People were pulling out of there with trailer loads of lumber (hope they picked up some trash too).

Despite being an area relatively unaffected by the storm, the clean up will take a lot of effort.
Looks how the beach normally is if you drive down far enough.:frown:
we were in padre and corpus all last week and it was thick all out at Padre Isalnad State Park. The sign read. Take more with you than you brought. We saw computers, recliners, lamps, boats (no kidding) and lots of household items. Sad.
A weird thing is that we went down by the beach in Matagorda (probably Tuesday after the storm) and it was cleaner than usual! I guess it took a while for everything to wash down! ifish2 using Capt. Rob's Login
The news crew showed part of a trash container that said "city of galveston" found on beach here.
