At Rigzone, the Transocean Marianas was reported to have moved about 2 miles, not sure if that was one of the ones that was a drift. They will post more when they get more news.

New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting rigs are located 100 miles off Louisiana coast, nothing else in the area and fairly stationary. only moved about two miles. No names on the rigs.

Rigs floating free is NO BUENO. That means that they are dragging anchors that will do some severe damage to the pipeline system in the GOM.

Howdy,
One free-floating rig has been positively identified as the Transocean Marianas.

The other free-floating rig is one of the following Noble Rigs;

Noble Paul Romano, Noble Lorris Bouzigard, or Noble Amos Runner.

Ensco 74 jackup is M.I.A. - it was stationed on South Marsh Island 149. Aerial reconnaissance and a boat dispatched to the location failed to locate the rig.

Bouzigard was working off of Auger, which was 23 NM from the eye on the dirty side of IKE's track - don't know how Auger fared.

I'm would venture to guess that Gunnison, Boomvang, Nancen are fine, as they were were well west (good side) of the storm.

Howdy,
I'm told that she came thru with flying colors! I haven't been down there personally, but believe she was unscathed - heck, we had aout 17 lines on her and were anticipating a much higher storm surge than what happened! WHEW!

My heartfelt condolences to all that were not as fortunate.

I am here in beautiful Tulsa OK. operating pipelines in the G.O.M. you guys will be happy to know that Boomvang and Nansen are in tact. So clean off your boats and get back at it!!!

Those aren't rigs. They're production platforms. Deepwater Spars and TLPs are meant to withstand much more than a jack-up rig.
