Hey,
Are there any good offshore fishing oil rigs located off of Port Aransas? If so how far out and what is the depth of the water? My boat is getting warranty work done at Port Aransas and I am going to be picking it up tomorrow or Wednesday.
Thanks

Actually, couple Baker rigs left. And if you head nne out of the jetties theres quite a few. Havent been down towards ant hills in a while but there were 2 the last time I was. Then if you head even further south than any hills there were some around Ranzells.

Another thing, southern still has the substructure, as well as a few around Ranzells. So if you have old rigs marked and get there and dont see anything above surface, it's still worth a look because there can be remnants, if not the whole substructure there. You just can't see it.

And the 13 mile rig just past the Anchorage ish there too.

Anthills are gone except for one of the three. Not sure how much longer it has left though. one has been reefed and should have TPWD Buoy attached. Was near ranzells/weather buoy area recently only saw two rigs. Stopped at one caught a decent ling. The rig itself did look like it was being removed in pieces just like the last anthill rig. Not sure how much life is left in any of the rigs in that water column. Seems more and more are removed or reefed each year.
