does anyone know of a rig fire of a rig about 20 miles east/southeast of the galveston jetties in the last couple of weeks? i fished this rig yesterday and notice it had burnt. didn't notice it a couple of weeks ago when i was there. a buddy told me that it had burnt last week. thanks

I think we may be talking about the same rig here but if its the one I'm thinking about its been burnt for at least 2-3 weeks. We came across it awhile back and its in the same general direction you are talkign about. We were actually there yesterday for a short while. What kind of boat were you in?

i fished it about 2 or 3 weeks ago and didn't notice .

If you talking about the two rigs together and one being burnt right inshore of 207 that rig has been burnt since last year.

A ship hit that platform and it caught on fire. There were pictures and a story about it on the Caost Guard website last year.

team sponge, thanks. i looks like it was hit by a ship. i just never notice it. i've fished it a few times in the last year, i must have been looking for the fish too much??? i never look up.
