Is there a law in Texas that states a person has to have a minimum sized acreage outside of the city limits to hunt wildlife? I thought there was, but I could have dreamt that one night.

Thanks
You might be thinking about this rule:

It is against the law to:

...
hunt in a subdivision with lots 10 acres or less in an unincorporated area of a county if the commissioners court, by order, prohibits the discharge of a firearm or the use of archery equipment in such subdivisions. (Contact local county clerk and ask about 235.022, Local Government Code.)

In my area, I think I heard you have to have 2 acres of your own to hunt it. I wonder if local code dictates it?

It may vary by county. I know Comal County requires a minimum of 10 acres.

now if 5 acre hunting isn't the same as potlicking....I don't know what is. I thought the measly 100 acres we were looking for was small for hunting on.
