To all,

I made a quick business trip to Galveston Island today. As I drove over the causeway I noticed the bay homes to the left (North) along the Virginia Point shoreline are completely gone. All were washed away from Ike's tidal surge, including the piers. The island has a long way to go to recover from Ike's fury. Very sad.

Here is the report.........The water condition is prefect gin clear past the rock groins, as far as the eye can see. The surf is flat flat flat to the beach. Did not see one person fishing the rock groins. Beach front should be great for you dawn patrollers. Good luck.

i had a friend that has been working there all week and fished this morning from one of the rock groins before work. he caught three reds in 45 minutes, 2 slots. So obviously the surf is full of reds. Said the same as far as water, green to beach and flat. Said the surf was full of mullet. Didnt catch a single trout though, so their already not as thick in the surf i assume.
