If running trips on your boat, do you get counter-rotation engines? If so, how do you determine which two get right/left hand and the other gets the opposite?

Just thinking...

the 2 outside engines are usually on 25inch shafts and are counter rotating and regular rotation. the center engine is on a 30 inch shaft and is regular rotation....rick

On the Fountain it is like this: Port is right hand, Center is right hand, Starboard is left hand. Fountain set it up like that. I have heard that by turning inboard rather than outboard, it creates more stern lift. Reggie Fountain is a speed freak and I am sure he has tried every combination.

Why stop at three outboards, get four and no more rotation worries...

No thanks...on four or three. I have no need to run 75+ mph unless I was getting paid to do so...paid well! I did see another post regarding insurance costs and was shocked at what the annual rates were. I'm sure it's a blast to run...and depressing to fuel up... I'll stick to singles, doubles...don't have the wallet for trips. The question was just something I was thinking about if the different configuration of rotation would help with the boats ride (kind of like adjusting wedge, tire pressure, etc on a race car).
