What's a good rule of thumb on the length you should have for your push pole? We're lookin into gettin one, but there are several different lengths to choose from and i'm not sure which one to get.

The boat we will be using it on is a 19ft Shoalwater.

Rule of thumb that i use is -

2' longer than your boat.

Of course I shoud ask first, do you have a poling platform on your boat ?
