I was dove hunting in falfuris a week ago and there were thousands of small birds that looked like small martins flying over the field we were hunting in. They could have been those birds that nest under a bridge but these every once in a while would make a sound like a purple martin. I was just thinking could this be the grouping together before the migration south. I have seen someone post about the martins coming to his bird houses in the spring, maybe he will know.

Your probably right that they may have been swallows. My purple martins left League City area mid July and dont usually return until mid February.
