I am looking at the JH Performance product real hard. I need to hear the difference in the Express series and the B series. Can someone enlighten me with real world information? I know John can do it......I get that. I am asking you, the people that bought them.

What is the "Express" series? I've only heard of the B series, Outlaw, and the newish BX.
Outlaw

I have no idea why I wrote Express! I meant Outlaw!
Outlaw=cat type hull
B Series=v type hull

Honestly I would ask John to have one of his guides or pro staff members take you on a demo. They go above and beyond to take care of the customer and a great dealer of mine. Everyone will give you their personal opinion but not everyone uses the boat the same way. Make sure that the boat you want performs the way you need it to. To big of an investment to listen to someone else's opinion when your opinion is the only one that matters.

I have the B240 and it rides like a dream and plenty shallow to get me to my wading spots. I am 61 years old and like the ride in the V. I have rode in the Outlaw and it’s a very impressive, fast and smooth boat too. Great boats and their service is great.

Like Court said above...totally different boats.

I have the Outlaw...and to be honest I’m a little intimidated to run it like the boat can really run...extremely skinny. It’s not the smoothest rude on a windy day, certainly not unbearable, but I don’t fish when the wind is howling. I talked with Greg Brewer and Randall Groves and really need to take my boat and have them show me how to get the most performance out of the hull (hole shot in mud vs sand, etc). I can get 50mph out of mine with a 250 SHO....but I am also a little heavy with batteries, raised console, etc.

The B-Series...particularly with trim tabs....can plow through a chop much better than the Outlaw. But it won’t run nearly as skinny. Not sure on the speed.

Make a trip down to Bastrop and have Greg/Randall run you around in the Outlaw and the new BX model. I don’t think they have a B series anymore but can probably find one to demo. I would suggest a demo on a windy day...they can find protected areas in the bayou to show you that as well...but running in a chop will show the difference.

I feel like I should of said something about the JH Performance owners-You could not ask for more fair & honest family to deal with-On a scale from 1-10 I rate them a 10+++++ You can talk to them about their boats & believe every word they tell you-If you purchase one of their boats you will never look back-Not sure what else you're looking at but I can personally recommend these guys-Hope this helps.
I can’t help you on the B Series, but, I run an Outlaw 230x. Mine’s a 2015 so I’ve had it for a while. Bottom line, at its price point you’d be hard pressed to find a better boat.

Pros: Great ride, excellent layout, incredible handling, and exceptional build quality. Sport Marine has been a pleasure to do business with

Cons: Could be faster (I can get 45mph with 200 SHO). Fiberglass hatches aren’t as water tight as I’d like.
Thanks

I know them well. They are my "go to" and I have already bought one boat from them. I plan on buying at the show. I am Outlaw impressed and but B by practicality. I do fish East Galveston fairly regularly. I fish Seadrift at times; two completely different environments. I know......B for Galveston bay and the Outlaw for Seadrift. That is my issue really.
Bought the B225 today

Done deal. Thanks,
Ran a B24 for 13 years with no complaints other than the junky hatches but they have raised the rear hatches now and fixed that.

I really liked the hull. Congratulations on your new boat!

Outlaw is a beast.. Just did a build sheet with John. The boats are awesome, handle great, do amazingly well in chop and turn on a dime.
I run an Outlaw 230 with a 250 SHO and will never own a different boat unless John designs something else! :) I was in your same shoes when I was evaluating boats back in 2017. I looked at Tran, Shoalwater, Haynie, etc. I never even considered JH until I bumped into them at the Houston boat show. I thought they were out of my league which is why I never even thought to consider them. In fact I was getting ready to walk over and purchase a Shoalwater and the best thing I have ever done was stop to talk to them! Once I got to speaking with John and everyone else there I was sold before I even took the test drive. They took me on a test drive then on a cold, windy, winter day at Matagorda Bay. After the test drive I couldn't have them build me one quickly enough! The 230 Outlaw goes plenty shallow and can take on some pretty rough seas. I have been in some pretty nasty stuff in Corpus Christi bay and was never beat to death or even afraid.
What I love most about the boat is how it corners, it's like a sports car on water. It doesn't slip in turns and just bites. When you consider shallow, rough water, and turning capabilities it is hands down a winner.

After getting to know the Sport Marine crew and having my boat for two years I'll never own or buy anything else from anyone. John, Lindsey and team are just outstanding people! They are so down to earth and honest and will do anything for you. I live three hours away from them and have experienced their level of service first hand. I've gotten to know them over the past couple years now and consider them my friends.

Make sure to go take a test drive. Also consider after the sale service which is just as important as making the decision to purchase. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. It's a fun process and good luck!

I'm late to the party but want to share my story. I was looking back about 5yrs ago at buying a boat (1st ever) and put a plan together to get their. Went out and demoed a few boats including the JH B210. With the performance of the B series and the customer service from Bob, John and Lindsey I was sold. Well fast forward to 2018. Before pulling the trigger John encouraged me to demo an outlaw with Greg Brewer and all I can say is Wow! I was so dead set on the B series because I fish Galveston Bay but I fell in love with the outlaw and couldn't be any happier. My 23' outlaw is rigged with a 250 G2 and several bells and whistles. I ran across Dickinson Bay to Bolivar and hit 57 mph fully loaded minus my removable rear bench. I've also hit 54 with 3 adults fully loaded including the rear bench. Even on rough water days the outlaw in a 23' is well capable of taking it on. It's not a B series ride but my outlaw quickly had me not caring about the smoother ride. The only regret that I have is that I hadn't bought sooner. I agree with some of the others who have replied. I don't see owning any other brand boat as long as Sport Marine is still around. Do yourself a favor and go visit Sport Marine!

💩 boats with horrible customer service. Paper thin to shed weight because of a horrible slow hull design. takes on water and plenty of other problems.
First bad report I have heard about JH. I think spammer trying to pull business to another boat manufacturer.
