Its the way the Astros do things. They denied the Randy Johnson deal a few years ago, denied the Carlos Beltran deal, denied the first Clemens deal and then call a news conference to say its all true. Kinda weird actually.

They will never confirm until the ink is dry.

Wasted money! He choked last year when it counted and he will do it again. He's over the hill. Great while he was in his prime but now is just an expensive toy for the sake of the fans. A draw for the crowd. Will go down with an injury or just fade, I'm afraid. Some folks just don't know when its time to retire.

Hopefully, they will just shoot Gallo to make sure he never comes back.
We can wish can't we? This is the 3rd year I've wondered why he was on the team. I just don't see what he brings to the table. He's a left-handed specialist who can't get left-handed batters out. And he's worse against right-handers.

I also hope this deal will get the Astros the kick in the pants they need. I'm excited to see the Rocket back in action in Houston. Though I was pretty confident that if he did come back it would be with them.

Roger will make more money for the ball club than they will be paying him. It's a no brainer, he could basically write his own check. And to say he choked last year is ridiculous. He was smart to sit for a couple months and not put that old body thru the season long grind.

Leadership, attitude, work ethic and people in the stands. Well worth the $14 million. FYI...that was no choke job last year, if you think they choked, then, I honestly don't know what games you watched. We might have been swept and that's not the outcome we all wanted to see, but that was a great World Series. Go Astros.
