I had a call from Steve Mountain (Steve_M) just now. His wife, Debbie (She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed), has been in a very bad automobile accident and is, this very moment, in surgery at Herman Hospital)

Steve was, understandably, very distraught and upset. But Debbie was driving in her car and was rear ended by another vehicle. She is in extremely critical condition.

I don't know how many of you have met Debbie but I have been around her enough to know that she is a sweet lady and didn't deserve to have this happen to her. She has a heart big as Texas and and is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet.

This good family is in desperate need of all of our prayers. I've seen it work over and over and I am a firm believer in the Power of Prayer. I hope that you will all join me in asking our sweet Lord to lay his healing hands on this good woman and see her through her hour of need, give Steve the strength to cope, and help the family through this tragedy.

If I get more information I'll pass it along. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I know that Steve will appreciate your support

I just called Steve back on his cell phone. I was already half dressed and about to head over to Herman. I absolutely could NOT stand the thought of him up there all alone trying to deal with this and no one to talk to or anything. I'm glad that I did. He told me that he is surrounded by family and friends and I feel a LOT better knowing that he isn't going through all this by himself.

I don't have any further information for you but I thought you might feel better if you knew he had some people around him to help him get through this awful night.

Steve, my deepest prayers are with you right now. As I just recently went through the same phone call I feel your pain. If you need anything at all please dont hesitate. Im off till Friday and will drop everything and be there in a heartbeat, just holler. Take care buddy and my prayers are with Debbie.

While we did not get to meet his wife, my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Steve and his daughter a few months ago, while we were at Crystal Beach.

We're both praying for all of them, and especially for her to get through the surgery and have a speedy recovery.

We've all thought about this situation at one time or another and now Steve is living it. My heart goes out to him and I'm praying hard.

I've only met Debbie one time and that was on the beach awhile back. We were sitting around the camp fire. I remember her singing "How Great Thou Art" and I was blown away at her beautiful voice and I came away with the feeling that she is strong in faith.

May the Good Lord keep and watch over the Mountain family during this difficult time.

Sadly..

At 11:00 pm Sunday Debbie passed from this world to the next. She was unconscious at the accident scene and remained that way throughout.

Her faith in the Lord was strong and unshakeable. I know that she left this earth at the accident scene and is now in a better place.

She is survived by a large family, a husband and 2 daughters. Pls keep us in your kind thoughts and prayers as we come to terms with the departure of one so dear to us.
