Went out of Freeport harbor and had a follower. He started trolling around our boat. If that had been the end of it I would not be so ******. The son of a @itch followed us for hours. When I get to a spot that is being fished I hale the boat say hello ask about the fishin and leave never needing to come close unless we are in a group. I have the name of the boat and if I ever run into that loser again he will have some problems. Most of the boaters out there have at least a shread of class , but this guy dosn't. There were tons of boats but none of them came close enought to see; that is my style to. I go offshore to get away from poeple if I wanted company I would envite it or go to the beach.
mabey 2cool could sponsor a boater edicate class to help so of these jerks.

Any hoo had to move a lot but still managed 3 lmits of snapps, beliners, 4 tuna and 1 hoo

You should have seen all the potlickers drifting Nancen Saturday Nite. They followed us all the way from ICM....100+ miles. I don't know how many of OUR tuna they caught. I think Jerry Springer should do a show about potlickers!

Let me see if i understand this. So if you leave 1hr ahead of me and we are headed to the same floater Boomvang, Gunnison, Nancen ect. ect..Are levae form two different ports who ever gets there first is not the potlicker?

There is enough room for everyone to drift with out being on top of each other at the rigs. Now if he is drifting right up your a** and using your chum line and not putting out any chum. I might see were this could be called potlicking.

I don't mind fishing with others I love it. Good fellowship with good fishing buddies is all part of passing the good vibes around. BUT, this guy knows better I thought If I posted this rant that he would pm me and apologize. Getting there first in my book means the spot is yours. If I approched a fisherman at a spot that I traveled to I would ask if he minds sharing his spot with me. If not its time to go hunting for more good water. The boat owner is a member of this site and he was trolling over my drift lines. Some might say he didn't see them, but they were very visible because a bird perched on my finger pointed it out several times. He even got tangled in my lines next time I board him make him walk the plank and be confined to the blarny deep "yarg".

Ps I wont post your picture this time but If you ever do that again we will have problems ok.

I really should post the pic but I am more forgiving since I have had some sleep. But, however I followed him in and belive me he will get his. A friend for mine had a similar problem with someone in his boat dock and stowed a few pieces of bait in some hard to find places on that barge. Needless to say it slowed him down a bit on the next weekend enough for him to out run him shadow.lol

Interesting: What does the future hold?

I can see the various points in the previous dialog. I predict that potlicking will increase exponentially over the next 10 years with the coastal population explosion unless good constructive education and dialog takes place such as this thread. When all else fails then a cannon blast over the bow or verbal flogging in a public forum may be necessary. We shall see.

I would feel honored that someone would follow me to fish. and they are welcome even in a tournament. Where do you get off that it is your Gulf. There are plenty of fish to go around. it was just one boat. Get a faster boat if you don't like it! And that is all I got to say about that!
