Very sad news about the Big E and the rest of 2008. It seems that they may cancel the remainder of their trips for the rest of the year.

I hope that they regroup and start up again in 2009. The service level of the deckhands, captain and front office has been outstanding. On the TBB '08 the deckhands loaded all of my gear, ice chests and bags from the truck to the boat and even upstairs to the upper deck. I didn't have to lift a finger. Now that is great service!

I have caught numerous fish on the Big E and have a load of memories that I will never forget. I tip my hat to the entire organization and hope that I have the privilege of fishing on their platform again in the future.

Thanks again to all of the individuals associated with The Big E and Underwater Expeditions. You have been a very classy act.

I disagree with those folks.

The Big E is a great boat and U.E. put in a lot of effort in prepping for our TBB '08 trip. I tip my hat to the entire organization....they are a great bunch of people. Let's not make this a Part II post of the past....I just want to extend my thanks to all of those involved with Underwater Expeditions.

After they blackballed my buddy Snagged I called a Voodoo priest in Jamaica and had him make up a voodoo doll of the Big E....it's now cursed :D
trodery,

You and a few others who share your opinion have been led astray by misinformation and a number of facts that were conspicuous by their absence.

You have only listened to one side of the story, and the side you heard ain't all true! I, for one, am tired of hearing UE's rep being maligned over a pack of lies.

I urge you to be patient... the facts will emerge in good time.

Well, I will say what every other private boat owner in thinking - Good. Less pressure.

I know lots of people love the Big E, but I can't be upset that thousands of BFT and hunderds of YFT will live to swim another day (well, at least until they hit my popper  ).

It's a joke! Get over it!

I really don't have a Jamaican Voodoo priest on speed dial.

AND...like you said "It's my opinion and I am entitled to it

LOL at Jim Smarr :D

I had 2 good trips on that boat myself, amigo. I am sure she's being pressed into service to get things rolling with gas production again. Georgia and West VA were out of gas yesterday, at least from what I was able to get from the internet, when it happened to work. Sometimes, boats gotta be real work boats for a while. It's just the way it goes.

Yes, this is going to be a tough year for all fishermen along the Texas Gulf Coast.
I did not intend to make this post a political statement about U.E. and The Big E.

(Then Jim Smarr appeared...:D)

Jim, all kidding aside,

Let me know when the RFA is ready to sell the artificial reefs down in our area, (Port Aransas and Packery Channel). I intend to buy one or two of those artificial reefs to support your efforts. Fishermen in the Freeport area probably have the artificial reefs bought out up in that area. How is that going?
