Wife and I will be in Port Aransas for the next three days. We have rented a condo on the beach.

Any advice on bank fishing spots? The wife doesn't fish much but she did get a license for this trip.

Any advice on walk up spots? Not looking for anything special sheephead and drum would do, she ain't picky. She's been watching videos and is excited about fishing (unusual for her).

PM if you don't want to say in public. Not asking for your super secret special spots, just a good spot to get something to pull the line!!!!!!

If you have a go to eating place feel free to post that up also!!!!! High end to hole in the wall as long as it's good Eats!!!! We are foodies and like to experience different cooking.

Thanks for reading!!!

you could fish the jetties, there is also a pier just south of the jetties, alot of people fish roberts point park, drive down Port Street, anywhere along 361 headed back to Aransas in the channel.

I always eat at Virginia's but it's not as good as it used to be. Trout Street Bar is also decent. I like to get my drink on at Bernies, Tortugas is good. Don't venture out much past that list.

Which condo?
Fishing: try the South Jetty, or Pier on beach front located 2/3 mile south of jetty.
May take the Jetty Boat out of Fishermans Wharf to the North Jetty and/or walk on St Joe Island beach front. There are no facilities, but the boat runs back and forth all day.
Favorite restaurant in Port A is Venetian Hot Plate, make reservations well ahead. There are many other fine places to eat. Venetian is casual but a high-end meal and fine wine selection. Crab Crostini as an appetizer!

Thanks for the replies!!!!!

We are staying at a condo on Access Rd 1A.

We fished the surf for a few hours yesterday. We drove in at Acces 2 and drove till just past where Mustang Island State Park starts.

It was a late start got there about 10:00 fished till 2:00 ish. Fished cut mullet no takers. Lots of mullet in the first and scond gut. Water color ok.

Went looking around and located the South Jetty parking area. Fished a little right there around the parking area. First cast with a strip of lady fish under a popping cork.....Bam!!!!!!!

Not.sure what it was.but couldn't keep it out of the rocks. Got.several more.bites no takers. Saw a couple very small spade fish so I guessing thats what it was.

Slept in today so another late start.

Not sure what Im gonna do probably end up on the beach somewhere first then not sure.....

I think Im gonna plan on doing the boat San Jose Island and the North Jetty in,th morning.

If you Google Wilsons Cut its not far from you. It is an area you can wade in and fish some back lakes or there's a cut you can fish. You can also look up Port St. It runs along the channel where the ferries cross you have a lot of bank to fish from south of the ferries.

It's been an early bite. Last weekend just north of Port A I didn't find reds until about 11:30. Threw live and dead shrimp, live and cut mullet and a cut skip jack at em and only caught 2 and they were everywhere. First time in my life I had a red pick up a piece of fresh cut skip jack and drop it. Went back early the next morning and had a limit in 20 minutes.
