I fished Port A for the first time in a long time this past weekend. I got in about 6 hours total and didn't see a single tarpon. I fished both evening and mid-day.

I finally got bored Sunday afternoon and started sight casting to the big reds surfing in from the gulf. Normally I avoid those things when tarpon fishing but since I hadn't seen any tarpon I gave it a go and managed to pick up my best red-it looked to be 50 inches or a little more. Some tarpon rolling would have been nicer though.

This morning there were tarpon chasing the schools of mullet around the north jetty.
They were all about 4footers, but they were there.
We had a tough time catching any mullet and never got a hookup with them, but instead we caught some real nice ling there.
