[Snagged]

Surfmeister and myself took a little run out of port A for a great day on the pond.
Started by picking up a few keeper Red Snapper, then a few grouper. Found a weedline that was loaded with chickens and had a blast landing enough of these for a good fry.
We did get to see what was easily the largest bull dolpfhin I've seen feeding on these chickens. I tied on a bait to a rod and did have him on for a few seconds until my line parted. Leson for me is not to use a rod that has it's topshot damaged by barnacles from jigging. There went my Contender!
We did find another small school of chickens about 17 miles out of Port A.

snagged ya'll did much better than we did we ran out for an overnighter at Bakers and the only thing we really had to show for it was 2 or 3 man limit of snapper and a decent bull dolphin. The fishing was incredibly slow. We didnt find any fish on the bottom till hospital.
Lost a couple nice fish while trolling the rocks.1 dolphin the other i dont know. I'll post a report and pics later

Here is a picture of the fish we caught minus a few I gave to neighbors. Best fishing day offshore on my boat to date and the conditions were spectactular. Seeing that bull dolphin leaping out of the water chasing those chickens is the kinda stuff that keeps you hooked to blue water fishing. Snagged did a great job of calming me down when we were in the chickens. Mahi mahi=yummy!!! SM

Went out with Buda Blue and landed a Wahoo, about 40 pounds and other assortment of fish. I'll let him post the report himself....

Nice trip guys, I was stuck in Austin with 20,000 Harleys. Sure looked like a nice day to be out.

Bill, We drove back to dfw with about half of them on sunday.. what a mess. There would be mama driving the truck w trailer following her old man on his bike.. saw that repeated all up and down I35.
