Anyone have any information on the atomizers or misters that have seen on several large sportfishers and at several theme parks ? Looking for sources of parts (tips, tubing, etc.) as well as information on what pressure and flow rate is required.

Any help is appreciated.

I was looking thru a Boat World catalog the other day. And that have a A/C that mounts in an ice chest. It was fan that sits on tip of about a 20 quart ice chest and blows air over the ice. I am not sure how good it would work on an open boat deck or center consule. But I think the idea would be nice to cool off in the cuddy cabin of my boat.

If you have a cuddy or a console that you can relax in try this link: http://www.kooleraire.com/Index.htm

I got one and it really works. It lowers the interior temp in my cabin to less than 75 degrees when the outside temp is over 100. I had the same idea about a mister as you have but the smallest unit I could find was designed to fit one of those 5-gallon water coolers and with all the apparatus and power requirements it just took up too much space and would have been very difficult to mount so that it would spray over the occupants. It also used a lot of fresh water so it would only last about 2 hours per 5 gallons of water.

I also bought one of those misters that are designed to screw into the water outlet in your yard. They are used to put around the pool or picnic table. I put it on my raw-water washdown pump on the boat but the pump really didn't have enough pressure and kept overheating and blowing fuses.

You can get neckbands called"Chill outs". I think there are a couple of different brands, but they work great. They get so cold you can't leave them on for very long. The draw back is that they kind of look gay, but hey that's the price you pay.

Thanks for the help !

I found a couple of kits, but I am really looking for information on purchasing the tips and specificially what PSI range they need to run at. I am looking at installing a fresh water tank in the boat and thought I would rig a shower hose and maybe some misters on the radar arch.

I will definetly have to leave the gay neck bands for someone else.
