I'm in the middle of a cash crunch and just broke off 2 eyes off of my favorite baitcasting rod.My question is can I wrap the eyes with sewing thread and coat with clear nail polish just for a quick patch.I really don't care right now if the finish dosen't come out perfect,as I will later fully restore the entire rod.Just want to know if it will work for a patch.Thanks

Yep! Works almost too good! I carry a spool of thread and a bottle of "Hard as Nails"
in my tackle box for those on the water fixes.

How did you bust the guides? Why I ask is, there could be damage to the rod blank as well that you can't see unless you look closely. Guides are generally not removed by accident without damaging the blank in the process.

this rod is almost 10 yrs old and is generally concidered a cheap type rod(berkley),but its one of my first rods that I started to tournament fish with.The guides just kinda rusted off at the base and I'm going to totally refurbish the rod in th near future.
